The Space Between Center is Adding Value & Lowering Fees

Just a few short weeks ago we launched The Space Between Center for Creative Spirit in Business with the goal of helping as many people as possible reach their potential through entrepreneurship.
Our first initiative has been a mastermind group for lawyers who serve bootstrapping entrepreneurs.
We thought we had a great offer, and some INCREDIBLE business attorneys agreed…
Then we did something some leaders refuse to do –
We listened.
We listened to the people who showed real interest in the program, but didn’t join, because they were telling us how we could do better.
We listened to our founding members; after all they had the faith to jump into a brand new program. What have they found beneficial? What elements were not that important?
We listened to all the people who contacted us after the online feature on my practice by the ABA Journal.
And, we listened to other lawyers who have been disappointed with other programs and wanted us to create something for their niches.
Here’s what we found out:
- YOU want to know how to bring in more clients.
- YOU want those client relationships to be long-term.
- YOU want those client relationships to be profitable.
- YOU want to have fun being a lawyer.
- YOU want to enjoy a better work-life balance.
- YOU want to continue learning new things.
- YOU want to enjoy the support of a group of peers.
- YOU want programs that serve the needs of lawyers who do NOT focus primarily on the needs of bootstrapping entrepreneurs.
- YOU want to pay less than $697/month for all of this.
We’ve created a great program already, but we can do better.
So, we’ve decided to make some major changes.

But here are some more details, just to give you a taste of what we’ll be sharing.
First, we’re LOWERING the membership fee.
Yes, you read that correctly, we’re lowering the price. The #1 reason people were NOT joining the program, despite knowing there were great benefits, turned out to be that in challenging times, they had a hard time committing $697/month to be part of the group. Remember, our mission isn’t to get rich and fund lavish lifestyles; our mission is to help people reach their potential. We want to help more people, so we’ve decided to make the price easier to fit into your budget.
Second, we’re ADDING a group for estate-planning attorneys.
Many of our friends in that practice area know the benefit of working together in a collaborative group and want to embrace the mission of The Space Between Center. As you know, I’m NOT an estate-planning attorney, so we are announcing Candice Aiston as a Fellow of The Space Between Center. Candice is a very experienced and well-respected estate-planning attorney and will be leading this group for The Center.
Third we’re ADDING a group for family law attorneys.
These attorneys have also been asking for a program to help them develop flat fee billing models and find better work-life balance, both core elements of The Space Between Center approach. Again, I’m not a family law attorney, and let’s face it; family law is a tough area of practice with a lot of new developments including the collaborative law movement.
In order to serve this group, we’ve decided to name two Fellows to lead The Center’s initiatives: Michael Sherman and Steve Worrall, both experienced family law attorneys with experience in the collaborative law approach and successful backgrounds based on flat-fee engagement models.
Of course our group for lawyers who serve entrepreneurs and The Center’s networking strength will just get stronger because of these changes.
How can we LOWER the investment and INCREASE the value?
We’re changing the model.
Yes, there will still be group calls dealing with the key areas of:

- how to better MARKET your expertise through building your personal brand as the expert in your niche;
